How Little You Are

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at 8pm
Bass Concert Hall (2350 Robert Dedman Drive, 78712)
Tickets $36-$45 (sold through Texas Performing Arts)

ACG is proud to work with Conspirare and Texas Performing Arts in an unprecedented performance collaboration of a new work by Nico Muhly. This world premiere performance, written for voices and guitars, will be conducted by Craig Hella Johnson, Conspirare’s artistic director, and will feature the LA Guitar Quartet, Dublin Guitar Quartet, and Texas Guitar Quartet. The program begins with a performance by the Conspirare Youth Choir and Austin Classical Guitar Youth Orchestra!

Nico Muhly has been described as “a leading light of contemporary classical music,” and is one of the most sought-after young composers in the new music world today. In this new work, How Little You Are, he uses music and text to capture the sense of hope, fear, and loneliness that defined the experience of Texas’ original settlers as they pursued the promise of a better life.

Presented in partnership with Conspirare, Texas Performing Arts, and KMFA. Support for the commissioning of How Little You Are by Nico Muhly was provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

*Tickets available through Texas Performing Arts »
