ACG 2021 Virtual Teacher Summit

July 19-23, 2021 (schedule below)

Join colleagues from around the world for five days filled with music, resources, friendship, and fun.

We’ll reflect on a year of remote teaching challenges and innovations, we’ll keep the best things we learned, and we’ll prepare for a fantastic, celebratory in-person and hybrid 21-22 school year. Connect with class guitar leaders, discover online collaborative project ideas and partners, find new music, learn new ideas, and best of all get a ton of super-positive, restorative, encouraging energy and inspiration!

Our goal? That you leave fired up to make music with your students and fully loaded with the materials, techniques, and support network you need for the best year ever.

This year’s Teacher Summit is completely online and includes an OPTIONAL Immersive Learning Experience (ILE) beginning four weeks before the Summit. The ILE will be a 90 min, weekly group guitar class (online) taught by ACG staff for beginner/early-intermediate guitarists who are interested in strengthening their playing skills. *Please note that registration for ILE sessions will close on 6/24.*

All Summit sessions will take place via Zoom. Upon successful completion, teachers will be eligible for 16 Professional Development Hours and will be awarded a certificate.

The 2021 Teacher Summit is designed to serve both new and veteran teaching partners with deep dives into the latest music, resources, adaptations, and techniques available for classroom success. Our vast collective experience will lift us all as we share challenges, successes, and encouragement with one another. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Summit Schedule

Opening Day: Monday, July 19th

  • Individual consulting with ACG Education staff; appointments available by request
  • 3:30-5:00 PM CT – Summit Roundtable

Formal Sessions: Tuesday, July 20th, Wednesday, July 21st, and Thursday, July 22nd

There will be two session blocks each day, led by a variety of speakers. 

  • 10:00 AM to 12 PM CT – Morning Sessions
  • 1:00 PM to 4 PM CT – Afternoon Sessions

Closing Day: Friday, July 23rd

  • Individual consulting with ACG Education staff; appointments available by request
  • 3:30-5:00 PM CT – SUMMIT CELEBRATION!

 

Registration Fee

The suggested registration fee is $110, with tiered options available. Payments can be made through the registration form below, or through purchase orders. Fee waivers are also available, please contact Jess Griggs (jess@austinclassicalguitar.org) for more information.
