Come hear the dynamic sounds of both Tony Morris
and Steve Kostelnik with the Salon Concerts String Quartet
(Robert Rudié (violin I) Stephanie Pepley (violin II)
Robert Radmer (viola) Benjamin Westney (cello)) and the
Viva Trio (Tony Morris (Guitar) Renata Green (flute) &
Jennifer Bourianoff (violin)), playing a varied program
including music ranging from Boccherini’s Fandango to
Guastavino’s Jeromita Linares and the US debut of a
new piece by Russell Sarre (former host of the radio show
Ancient Voices) written for guitar and string quartet for
Steve Kostelnik. The concert, located at the picturesque
Laguna Gloria Art Museum will, in true Salon Concerts
fashion, be followed by delicious desserts and wine.
Praised by Soundboard magazine for his “lyrical playing”
and “remarkable counterpoint,” Steve Kostelnik tours
extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has
won top honors at several important competitions
including, the Naxos prize at the 1996 Guitar Foundation
of America International Guitar Competition,
First prize at the 1995 MTNA Wurlitzer Competition,
among others. His highly acclaimed debut recording
“Steve Kostelnik: Guitar Recital” was released on the
Naxos label in 1999.
Tony Morris is heard each week by
radio listeners of over 200 stations across America as
the host of the Classical Guitar Alive! program.
In Austin, the program airs Saturday nights at
6:00pm and Sundays at 12 Noon on Classical 89.5FM,
KMFA. In conjunction with his international broadcast
career, he performs throughout the United States
as a solo guitarist andchamber musician. In 2002,
he became the first Austin classical musician
invited to perform at the White House in Washington, D.C.
Robert Rudié, first violin of the Salon Concerts
String Quartet is the founder and music director,
Salon Concerts and CHAMPS. Former concertmaster,
American Symphony, Oklahoma Symphony, and Aspen
Festival. International tours as soloist
and conductor.

Renata Green, flute, is an active chamber musician who
performs throughout North America. Her 2002
chamber concert at the Texas Governor’s Mansion
was filmed for public television. She has participated
in numerous music festivals, workshops, and master
classes, including the Boxwood Traditional Music Camp
in Laramie, Wyoming, where she studied with Dorian
Recordings artist Chris Norman of the Baltimore Consort.
Jennifer Bourianoff, violin, a native Austinite,
is the Assistant Concertmaster of the Austin Symphony
Orchestra and has served as Assistant Concertmasters
of the Britt Festival Orchestra in Oregon and the
Santa Fe Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, as well as
Principal Viola of the San Antonio Opera. She has
coached chamber music, taught master classes and
performed throughout the United States, South America,
Germany, Mexico and France.
