Community Guitar Ensembles
If you enjoy playing classical guitar and would like to make music, at any level, with others, then ACG ensembles are for you! The program is led by ACG Community Guitarists Director, Eric Pearson. Registration links can be found below.
ACG Community Guitar Ensembles are open to all adult classical guitar players who desire the enjoyment and accomplishment of ensemble playing. The ACG Guitar Ensemble performs frequently in Austin and has performed concerts in Austin, San Antonio and Lufkin. Fall Registration is due by August 1st and Spring Registration is due by January 5th each year. Spring Registration includes automatic registration in the Guitars Galore Ensemble Festival, which brings guitarists from all over the region to Austin for a day of concerts, conversation and the premiere of the winning piece of the ACG Composition Competition for Texas-Based Composers.
ACG Guitar Choir
This ensemble is designed for intermediate and advanced players with limited time. The ensemble meets weekly and will perform one to two times during the semester. Players should expect to be challenged, but it will be worth it! Sunday afternoon rehearsals.

2014 Composition Competition for Texas Based Composers
Austin Classical Guitar is pleased to announce the eighth annual Guitar Ensemble Composition
Competition for Texas-based composers. The goal of this contest is to encourage Texas
composers to write new music for guitar ensemble and, likewise, to encourage guitar ensembles to perform new Texas Music!
The competition is open to Texas-based composers only. There is no age limit. Composers may
submit multiple works. Compositions must be written for four parts and have a duration of 4 to
6 minutes. Entries must be playable by beginning to intermediate guitarists. The winning entry will receive a $500 dollar prize and be premiered at the 2014 Guitars Galore festival on April 26, 2014!
