Pasión!
I'm super excited to announce our new Latin Summer Concert Series Pasión!
The series has three dates: June 11th is Cuba!, July 16th is Tango! and July 30th is Viva Mexico!. I've had fun lining up some amazing artists for each date: our friend Rene Izquierdo will join us for Cuba!. Rene is an amazing Cuban artist and he'll be bringing fellow countryman Edel Munoz about whom I've heard simply stunning things! And speaking of hearing stunning things, our Tango! artists - actually Italians - come highly recommended form none other than David Russell (and many others). Their performance on July 16th (in collaboration with the Austin Chamber Music Center) will be their US debut. Then Mexican virtuoso and master teacher Juan Carlos Laguna will make his Austin debut on July 30th.
But that's not all!
We've lined up amazing Latin American cuisine receptions for each event! La Sombra bar and Grill - a phenomenal restaurant and bar in Austin focusing on Latin American cuisine - will make special receptions paired with each day! The concerts will be at 4PM and 7:30PM each day and the receptions will take place in between.
On Monday evening, June 6th, we'll even host a very special series kick-off event at La Sombra Bar and Grill featuring a special 4-course meal and an exclusive concert by master guitarist Isaac Bustos. Seating for this special event is extremely limited, so pick up your tickets early!
Can I just say I love how Isaac plays? In fact, I see no reason not to announce right here that Isaac has been hired to perform as the second artist in our 2011-2012 International Concert Series next November 5th! So there you have it - our first announcement about next season, you heard it here first!
