Community Guitar Ensembles
If you enjoy playing classical guitar at any level, and would like to make music with others, then ACG’s Community Guitar Ensembles are for you! The program is led by ACG Community Guitarists Director, Eric Pearson. Registration links below!
The Community Guitar Ensembles are open to all adult classical guitar players. The groups perform frequently in Austin and have performed concerts in Austin, San Antonio and Lufkin. Fall Registration is due by August 1st and Spring Registration is due by January 5th each year. Spring Registration includes registration in the Guitars Galore Ensemble Festival, which brings guitarists from all over the region to Austin for a day of concerts, conversation and the premiere of the winning piece of the ACG Composition Competition for Texas-Based Composers.

ACG Guitar Salon
The focus of this ensemble is on beginning and intermediate players who can read music in first position and are looking to enjoy playing with others. Relaxed pace, beautiful music!
ACG Guitar Choir
This ensemble is designed for intermediate players with limited time but a desire to be musically challenged. The ensemble meets weekly and performs one to two times during the semester.

Austin Classical Guitar’s premiere community ensemble! Intended for advanced players who wish to rehearse and perform regularly – some traveling may be necessary!
2014 Composition Competition for Texas-Based Composers
Congratulations to 2014 Composition Competition winner Alice Gomez!
Austin Classical Guitar is pleased to sponsor the annual Guitar Ensemble Composition Competition for Texas-based composers. The goal of this contest is to encourage Texas composers to write new music for guitar ensemble and, likewise, to encourage guitar ensembles to perform new Texas Music!
The competition is open to Texas-based composers only. There is no age limit. Composers may submit multiple works. Compositions must be written for four parts and have a duration of 4 to 6 minutes. Entries must be playable by beginning to intermediate guitarists. The winning entry will receive a $500 dollar prize and be premiered at the Guitars Galore festival held every Spring.
